To live by a code …
…sometimes you must break it.
Sergeant Davis of the USMC thought he was doing the right thing when he helped the little guy in a bar fight. His first punch knocked the attacker’s mask askew and revealed scaly skin beneath. From there training took over And the fight was soon over. Permanently.
He killed the wrong alien.
Now, Sgt. Davis finds himself in the middle of a fight bigger than his planet, and it’s all his fault. His actions at the bar that night had big consequences, and now he is forced to make a choice:
Will he let Earth suffer for his actions, or will he desert the Corp and take the punishment himself?
Not one, but two different alien species are on Earth. They both have different opinions on the Future of humanity, one wants to help (by keeping us ignorant) the other wants us to advance so they can attack us openly without breaking Confederation law created by the ruling race of sentient supercomputers. Sound complicated?
Imagine how a young Marine Sergeant felt when he accidentally discovered the plot and gained control of a ship that one of the ruling computers inhabits. To make matters worse Sgt Davis is not a wanted fugitive throughout the galaxy. Under the gun and facing execution, how will Davis protect earth when he is exiled from it and cannot tell anyone the truth.
This is my first foray into fiction writing, and I think I am hooked. Once I had an idea I sat to write and was surprised at all the things General Davis chose to do. Marvin surprised me as he went from a snitching super computer into a true friend of humanity.
I got watery eyed as the words describing the aftermath of the Second Battle for Earth flowed into the keyboard.
