Tactical Pistol Marksmanship
Gabe Suarez is the real deal when it comes to firearm training. I have read several of his books and articles, and always find something worthwhile to cram into my brain housing group.
Tactical Pistol Marksmanship is no different. It contains good points on selecting the right service gun for your needs, as well as some rules of thumb for what caliber it should be. I particularly found his tips on low light shooting to be useful, as well as the section on malfunction stoppages.
His techniques are not always what is taught, but his explanations are well thought out. I recommend Tactical Pistol Marksmanship as worth a look.
It is a good book, by a good instructor.
